    Ydwer van der Heide is the co-founder of Amongst Friends. He is the kiteboarding industry’s most acclaimed photographer. With over 15 years in the industry, Ydwer really has seen it all. Being a passionate rider himself, he managed to capture kiteboarding in one of the most recognisable styles in the industry. Ydwer was the Art Director for Access Kiteboarding Magazine as well as the staff photographer for Kiteworld International Magazine. He understands what it takes to create memorable images. After a heavy surf accident that has left Ydwer in a wheelchair, he has shifted his focus to mentoring the next generation of creatives.

    Ydwer is passionate about exploring the feelings associated with kiteboarding by documenting the extraordinary moments in our sport.

    JASON BRODERICK

    Jason Broderick is the co-founder of Amongst Friends. He is a highly accomplished Creative Director backed with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Motion Pictures. He has over 10 years experience in the film industry, with his work being featured in Emmy Award-Winning television series, feature films, commercials, music videos and everything in-between. Jason is one of the most creative minds in kiteboarding, having been around the industry for the last 15 years. Jason is passionate about creative direction, the exploration of concepts and seeing them come to life.

    Jason’s signature raw, salt stained photography style explores the concepts of freedom. His unique use of natural light contrasted against movement results in powerful stylistic images that leave viewer captivated.

We weren’t here for the fame, our journey was fueled by passion, the sunrises, sunsets, dusks & dawns, capturing every golden hour no matter the conditions. Our journey started because we were willing to brave the elements.

We’ve been there, every time. From the highs to the lows, the flats to the perfect breaks, the start of the megaloop till today’s double loops, we have seen it all. We have faced 50knot winds, and below-0 conditions, and still wake up everyday craving to do it all again.
